Formally known as ebola hemorrhagic fever but now referred to as ebola virus disease. There are only five or six types of ebola virus, four of them found to have caused the disease in humans It is a rare and deadly disease in people and non human primates.( According to CDC). Other animals include monkeys, gorillas and chimpanzees. The six types include; * Species Zaire ebolavirus *Species Sudan ebolavirus *Species Tai Forest ebolavirus (Cote D'Ivoire ebolavirus) *Species Bundibugyo ebolavirus *Species Reston ebolavirus *Species bombali ebolavirus Of these only four (Zaire, Sudan, Tai Forest and Bundibugyo viruses)cause the disease in people.
