Malaria

" With the renewed efforts by the government of Uganda, malaria has today ceased to be the one number killer disease in the country. In most districts, malaria now ranks in the third category of killer diseases"
         Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, said.
On a good note,the country has already realized districts that are less than 2% prevalence like Kampala and Kigezi.
       Due to the reduction in malaria cases being seen in the country, ministry of health has stratified and zoned the country as away to eliminate the disease.
       Next to that,the government of Uganda has mobilized a tenfold increase on malaria investment over the years mainly from development partners such as Globalfund,DFID,USAID,UNICEF, Chinese Government,UNITAID, among others.
        
         This has enabled the country to expand access to malaria prevention and treatment, lifesaving tools such as antimalaria medicines, Rapid Diagnostic Test ( RDTs) and Indoor Residual Spraying, mosquito nets and others.
          The just concluded national third universal coverage distribution of 26 million nets at the household level to reduce exposure to mosquito bites.
       Many people there for have received the services.
